Tues 3rd November - 10.30am - 3.00pm LUNCH PROVIDED!! Scrub removal at Oxford Island. Meet at reception at 10.30am. We are going to be removing willow from a species rich meadow - the willow has to be removed as it is taking over the meadow and reducing its biodiversity value. This will involve working with saws and hand tools to cut the willow and remove it from the site. Wear wellies and suitable outdoor clothing.
Saturday 5th December - 10am - 1pm Tree O'Clock World record attempt. As part of National Tree week Conservation Volunteers and Craigavon Council are working in partnership for the Breathing Places 'Tree O'Clock' World record attempt. Join us in early December and help the UK set the Guinness World Record for the most trees planted in one hour. The aim is to plant a million trees, and beat the current record of 653,143! If you think you can help make history come along! We will meet at the reception of Oxford Island Discovery Centre at 10am.
